- AMLOD 10 MG contains Amlodipine, a calcium channel blocker.
- Treats hypertension, chronic stable angina, and vasospastic angina.
- Relaxes blood vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow.
- Helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
- Dosage: 5-10 mg once daily for adults; 2.5 mg once daily for elderly or those with hepatic impairment.
- Precautions: Caution in CHF and liver impairment. Not recommended for children.
- Common side effects: Edema, dizziness, headache, and palpitations.
- Monitor: Blood pressure, pulse, and ECG during treatment.
- Do not stop suddenly to avoid withdrawal symptoms like increased angina.

Indications

Route/Dosage
- Adults: Oral, 5-10 mg once daily
- Elderly: Oral, 2.5 mg once daily
- Hepatic impairment: Oral, 2.5 mg once daily
Interactions
- Beta-blockers: May increase cardiac effects.
- Fentanyl: Risk of severe hypotension.
Adverse Reactions
- Cardiovascular: Palpitations, edema, tachycardia, bradycardia.
- CNS: Headache, dizziness, fatigue.
- Dermatologic: Rash, pruritus.
- GI: Nausea, dyspepsia.
- Respiratory: Dyspnea, wheezing.
Precautions
- Pregnancy: Category C.
- Lactation: Safety unknown.
- Children: Safety not established.
- Use cautiously in CHF and hepatic impairment.
Patient Care
- Administer in the morning; may crush tablets if needed.
- Store in a tightly closed container at room temperature.
- Monitor BP, pulse, and ECG.
- Taper dose if discontinuing to avoid withdrawal.
- Watch for signs of CHF and chest pain.
Overdose Symptoms
- Nausea, dizziness, hypotension, bradycardia, AV block.
Patient Education
- Teach pulse monitoring before taking the drug.
- Advise against stopping medication abruptly.
- Encourage good oral hygiene and regular follow-ups.
- Avoid sudden position changes, alcohol, and CNS depressants.
- Use caution with driving due to potential drowsiness.
