Foracort 400 Rotacaps

Composition:

• Each rotacap contains:
  • Formoterol Fumarate: 6 micrograms
  • Budesonide: 400 micrograms

Uses:

• Foracort 400 Rotacaps are prescribed for the regular treatment of asthma and COPD. They help in:
  • Preventing asthma attacks
  • Reducing symptoms like wheezing and shortness of breath
  • Improving lung function
  • Decreasing the frequency of exacerbations

Dosage and Administration:

• Dosage: The recommended dosage is one rotacap inhaled twice daily, as directed by your healthcare provider.
• Administration Instructions:
  1. Open the rotacap blister pack and remove a rotacap.
  2. Place the rotacap into the rotahaler device.
  3. Close the rotahaler and press the side buttons to pierce the rotacap.
  4. Exhale fully to empty your lungs.
  5. Place the mouthpiece between your lips and inhale deeply and forcefully.
  6. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds or as long as comfortable.
  7. Remove the rotahaler and exhale gently.
  8. If a second inhalation is prescribed, repeat the steps.
  9. After use, rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to prevent fungal infections.
  10. Dispose of the used rotacap properly.

Side Effects:

• Common side effects may include:
  • Headache
  • Dry mouth
  • Dizziness
  • Nausea
  • Palpitations
  • Muscle cramps
• If any of these effects persist or worsen, or if you experience signs of an allergic reaction (such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing), seek medical attention promptly.

Precautions:

• Medical History: Inform your doctor if you have a history of heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or any infections.
• Concurrent Medications: Discuss all medications, including over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements, to avoid potential interactions.
• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Consult your doctor before using this inhaler if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
