Mechanism of Action (MOA):
- Paracetamol works by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system and blocking peripheral pain impulse generation. It also acts on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center to reduce fever.
Dosage and Administration:
- Children 2 to 3 years (11-16 kg): 5 mL (125 mg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 4 doses (500 mg) in 24 hours.
- Children 4 to 5 years (17-20 kg): 7.5 mL (187.5 mg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 4 doses (750 mg) in 24 hours.
- Children 6 to 8 years (21-25 kg): 10 mL (250 mg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 4 doses (1,000 mg) in 24 hours.
- Children 9 to 10 years (26-32 kg): 12.5 mL (312.5 mg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 4 doses (1,250 mg) in 24 hours.
- Children 11 to 12 years (33-43 kg): 15 mL (375 mg) every 4 to 6 hours as needed, not exceeding 4 doses (1,500 mg) in 24 hours.
- Administration: Shake well before use. Use the provided measuring device to ensure accurate dosing.
