Seroflo-250 Rotacaps

Mechanism of Action (MOA):

• Salmeterol: A long-acting bronchodilator that relaxes the muscles in the airways, widening them and making breathing easier.
• Fluticasone Propionate: A corticosteroid that inhibits the release of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways.

Dosage and Administration:

• Recommended Dose: Use as prescribed by your doctor.
• Administration:
  • Rotacaps must not be swallowed.
  • Check the label for directions before use.
  • Place the capsule at the base of the rotahaler, not in the mouthpiece.
  • Twist the mouthpiece completely until you hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece.
  • Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds.
  • If some powder remains in the rotahaler, repeat the process.
  • Afterwards, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out.

Side Effects:

• Common side effects include headache, cough, upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis (inflammation of the throat and nasal passages), sinus inflammation, stomach discomfort, fungal infection of the oropharynx, tremors, palpitations, and voice change.

Drug Interactions:

• Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.

Precautions:

• Pregnancy: Should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the doctor. Inform your doctor before using it.
• Breastfeeding: Should be used in breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the doctor. Consult your doctor for advice before using it.
