Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide: Acts on the cough center in the medulla oblongata to suppress the cough reflex, providing relief from dry, non-productive cough.
Chlorpheniramine Maleate: Functions as a histamine H1-receptor antagonist, reducing allergy symptoms like sneezing and runny nose by blocking histamine action.
Dosage and Administration
Children under 12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 ml) every 6 hours
Children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 ml) every 6 hours
Children under 6 years: Safety and efficacy not established; use with caution and under medical supervision
