Fincar 5 mg

Composition:

• Each tablet contains 5 mg of Finasteride.

Uses:

• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH): Fincar 5 mg is prescribed to treat symptoms of BPH in men with an enlarged prostate. It helps to shrink the prostate, improve urinary flow, and may reduce the need for surgery.
• Male Pattern Baldness: While the 1 mg dose of Finasteride is commonly used for hair loss, the 5 mg dose may be prescribed off-label in certain cases. Consult your healthcare provider for appropriate dosing.

Dosage and Administration:

• BPH: One tablet (5 mg) taken orally once daily, with or without food.
• Hair Loss: Dosage as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Note: Consistent daily intake is recommended. It may take several months to notice improvement. Do not discontinue without consulting your doctor.

Major Side Effects:

• Sexual Dysfunction: Erectile dysfunction (1.3-8.1%), decreased libido (1.8-6.4%), ejaculation disorders (0.8-1.2%).
• Breast Changes: Enlargement (0.5-1.8%), tenderness (0.4-0.7%).
• Hypersensitivity Reactions: Skin rash (0.5%).

Precautions:

• Pregnancy: Contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant. Finasteride can cause abnormalities in the external genitalia of a male fetus.
